Inu Yasha

Doggy

Basics

This is a Manga serie about a jewel that can destroy the world if it falls into the wrong hands.
So, first things first: Manga is the japanese comic. It's a style to draw pictures, a style I personally like but I dunno about you.
There are the books (german Version 56) and the films (dunno how much, but over 100 plus 5 longer movies). I started with watching the movies, recognized my mistake because the movies aren't really in the whole storyline of Inu Yasha. Then I moved on to the films, each one about 20 Minutes I guess. But my internet connection was so bad that I continued with the books, which are also faster to finish than the films :)
But it's your choice!

Characters

Inu Yasha - Half Dog Demon that falls in love with the Miko Kikyo, after they're divorced through Naraku they kill each other, he later helps Kagome to find the splitters of the Jewel of the 4 souls, his sword Tessaiga gets a lot of powers throughout the series
Kikyo - a Miko who guarded the Shikon no Tama and fell in love with Inu Yasha
Kagome - reincarnation of the Miko Kikyo, even looks like her, has some of her powers, she accidentally shatters the Jewel and than tries to find the splitter together with Inu Yasha, fights with bow
Naraku - in a way the archenemy of Inu Yasha and his friends, he's a half demon too and tries to collect the Jewel Splitters to become a full demon
Shikon no Tama - Jewel of the 4 Souls, has a bad and a good side, can full fill the wish of the owner
Shippo - little fox demon, helps Inu Yasha and Kagome throughout the series
Sango - a Demon hunters who helps too
Miroku - a monk, who is a bit of a womanizer but in true love with Sango, his Kasana, a hole in his hand, can "soak up" immense quantity of material
Kohaku - Sangos brother who killed their parents and friend because of Naraku, lives because of a splitter of the jewel
Sesshomaru - Inu Yasha's Brother, full Dog Demon, hates his brother, tries repeadetly to kill him, has a sword, Tenseiga, that brings the Dead back to life
Rin - little girl that was saved by Sesshoma
Jaken - a Kappa that travels with Sesshoma
Myoga - flea demon, intelligent but a coward
Totosai - maker of Tenseiga and Tessaiga

Story

Kagome is a normal girl that live in Japan in a Shinton Shrine.
One day she accidently falls into a well and finds herself in the Middle Ages. She meets Inu Yasha, a Half Demon, who is trapped to a tree by a sacred arrow. She releases him to save her life from a monster and, after a while and because they have to work together, they become friends.
The Demon, who has threatend her life is killed by Inu Yasha, but not before it frees the Shikon no Tama that was inside of Kagomes body.
In the following episodes Kagome accidently destroys the Jewel and it shatters into splitter. She gets the task to reunit the splitter of the Shikon no Tama because even one little piece of it can turn a simple demon into a life threathing Monster.
On this journey she meets a lot of different Demons, Monsters, Humans, gets new friends and new enemies, of which the worsest is Naraku, exactly the Naraku who divorced Kikyo and Inu Yasha in the first Place.
This half demon cares about nothing but the Jewel and would do everything to reunit it again.
The Fight begins!
(I can't tell the whole story of 56 books in one short post, but you're free to ask me questions :) )

Pro and Cons

You can decide if you want to watch the films (196 episodes) or read the books (56 books), but as you can see you'll be faster with the books. On the other side it is just amazing to watch all the fights and the emotional scences in full lenght as a film.
I must also admit that the whole Inu Yasha thing can be a bit addictive, but it's definitly worth it.
The movies are nice to watch, too, but they're not necessary for the actual storyline, in fact it can be a bit confusing because there are maybe some characters that appear later in the Series.

Funny and awesome Quotes

I read it in german so I can't come up with any quotes, I'm sorry.
I'll try to figure out how to find some and post them later!

Okami

Hello, furball.

BASICs

This is a Wii-Game, that means if you aren't a fan of it or don't have a Wii at home you shouldn't read this post because it's useless. Although you could get a taste of it and buy one ;)
Okay, now seriously.
Okami is a little bit fantasy, you are a dog who is a reincarnation of the solar godess (who is, in fact, a dog, too). She can draw pictures and these pictures come to life.
Her purpose is to save the world from a big bad dragon who have killed her anchestor.

Characters

Shiranui - god, died after a hard fight agains Orochi
Nagi - helped Shiranui with this fight
Amaterasu "Amy" - main character, a dog and reincarnation of Shiranui
Issun - a friend of her, helps her but is sometimes a little bit disturbing ;)
Orochi - the big bad dragon

Playing

The controlls are a little bit different like a lot of other games I played before so it took it's time to get used to it, but finally, it was a great game.
So, try it and enjoy.

Pro and Cons

Like I said before the controlls are different so it isn't easy to get used to them in the first place, but after you get it it is just great, although the Story is a bit complicated, I haven't finished it yet after 19 hours of playing because I hang at one little part of the game.
Honestly, I have no idea how to go on with the game, but it's still awesome.
So, what else? Uhm ... I guess, nothing.
And, like every time, when there are questions with the game, I'd love to help you ;)

Funny and awesome quotes

I must admit I can't remember any quotes of this game because it's been a while since I played it the last time. Honestly, I used Wikipedia for the characters, sorry for that.
But the chats between Issun and Amy are worth to play the game ;)

Courage is the magic that turns Dreams into Reality.

BASICs

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvTjcNd8mT4
This is a Wii-Game. It's a RPG and in the Style of Anime. There is a first part (Tales of Symphonia), but you don't have to know it for playing the second part (honestly, I still don't know it^^). For this game you have to think logically and your characters often fight, but there are a lot of Websites which can hep you with solving specific problems and you have me, too ;DDDD

Story

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDg3PGY3zP4 (just skip the first 56 seconds)

The main Charakter is Emil.
Emil is a shy boy from Palmacosta. During the attack at the town by the Church of Martel his Parents were killed by Lloyd. He lives now at his aunts and uncles house in Luin.
At the beginning you'll met Richter and Marta. For saving the girl from Richtor you become a knight of Ratatosk. You fight against Lloyd, loose and choose, that you'll travel together with Marta to collect the centurios cores and awake Ratatosk. He can turn the worlds mana level to normal and so the strange weather will disappear. The world will be saved and incidentally you can take revenge for your killed parents.

Commander Brute - head of the Vanguard, father of Marta
Presea Combatir - weapon : ax

Playing

The basics of ToS are not really difficult above all because they are explained in the game.
Much is like in other Wii-RPGs. You run and walk with the Control-Stick, you fight with "a". "z" is block and "b" is back. The other things like yells, the equipment or the monsters are really easy to understand.
I like it very much, coudn't stop at all ;DDDD

Pro and Cons

So, the Cons first.
The only thing, I really hate playing ToS were the cutscenes (not sure that is the right word, I mean the sequences, where you see a kind of film). It was terrible!
You must understand, I have nothing against Animes or such stuff.
But this films are so ... long and when I played the game a second time, I was just tired of watching this goddamn scenes!
And, what's funny too, when you wern't able to save after such a thing and than your characters die.
One film I watch atleast 8 times before I restart the whole game from the beginning. Than it works -.-
Another Con was the amount of fights. Sometimes I just wanted to scream out and to throw remote trough the room. I mean, yes, it's a fight-game. But 500 fights? Is that really necessary?
And ToS is really long, I needed 25 hours for finishing it.
But there are also Pros (of course:DDDD)
First : the story is awesome! Fantasy, Anime and Fighting = perfect game for me!
Another funny thing is the Chat. Than the game stops for a moment and you see pictures of your characters. Now you can hear a nice little talk. My favourite are the Chats "Translation", "ban of speaking", "ban of speaking part 2" and part 3, and, my absolute favourite "Where am I?". A Chat which name I forgot is also funny, I'll post it later.
So, whats a Pro too?
Of Course the Characters. I love Richter and Emil, especially when he becomes a Knight of Ratatosk with his red eyes <3<3<3 (okay, I'm really crazy, I know^^)
The Story is pretty amazing, too and I love the style. I know, I haven't played so much Animegames, but I think that was a good one. Thanks to our library! (lol)

funny and awesome Quotes

So, the best of all is of course :
Courage is the magic that turns Dreams into Reality.
It was said by Richter when he speaks to Emil. Later it becomes the "Mantra" of the shy boy.
Funny are the Chats I've spoken before.
